I'm flattered. :-)  But check out the other featured dolls, they are quite talented! I'm humbled by being included with these creative dollies.

Now HERE is a fashion line to be excited about!

If you are a historian like  me (unlikely), or are a fan of the brilliant Baz Luhrman film "Moulin Rouge", or even if you just adore fashion with a fun, sexy edge, (or all three, again like me, and who says geeks can't love fashion?) then wow! will you be thrilled!

Introducing M. Rouge, a new line by Ceaara! Below is a spoiler; click the photo or the link below it to get to the blog for news, updates, previews and bohemian fun!

NCG Australia!

Yay!  I won NCG Australia for September 27th 2011!  Wootness!

It was so nice of so many people to vote for me; there are a lot of really nice people on Stardoll!

On the other hand, the "magazine cover" is screwed up, it doesn't show my outfit correctly. Oh well, I've got the trophy and that will last much longer, plus I did a screen capture so I can reminisce about my victory at later dates.

Thanks again to everyone who voted!

Bits & pieces

Drama drama drama. I now understand why nice people quit Stardoll. Jeez.

In other news, I am up to my neck in research for this semester. Ouch. I’m enjoying it, but it is hard. And I really, really need to live in Turkey.

If I’m hard to reach, you now know why. And it only gets worse from here… MAs are even harder, and the PhD will probably kill me.

P.S.-- Completely off topic for this "gaming" blog, but in my honest opinion, the bloody History Channel needs to lift it's fucking game. (There I said game, made relevant.) Anyway, in what universe is the NT considered "history"?  And "Ice Road Truckers" and "Top Shot"? (Epic fail due to Colby Donanldson, the yutz.) THAT'S NOT HISTORY!  They should be canceled THEN they'd be history. Seriously, would it kill the History Channel to actually DO some history?  Jeez.

This is important-- check it out.

The lovely & talented Audrey is working a new project, about to be unveiled. She hasn't released all the details on it yet, but given the name of the project and the feelings she has expressed about the drama and bias in Dollyworld, it looks as if she is taking steps to make Stardoll-- and real life-- better for all of us. Please check it out, and follow the blog!

Just a quick update...

The new uni semester is totally interfering with my Stardoll time!  Waaaaaaaaaaa!  Please feel sorry for me.  ;-)

Okay, just kidding; I love being back in uni and the hard work is rewarding. I am learning some really great stuff this semester even if I don't have a Roman history class of any sort. *pouts* But I do have a feeling that once these degrees are complete and I move back to the US to do my Masters of Divinity, then I will likely MOVE to Turkey for a few years-- all the things that matter most deeply to me in my history studies are there, including topics I could use for that particular Master's thesis. (Hittite art, Byzantine ruins, Ottoman Empire art & architecture, Graeco-Roman influences, Willusa (Troy?) and modern Istanbul & Ankara...) Sure,  Australia will always be home, just like the US is still my home, and the special ways that Mexico & Pakistan are "homelike" to me and own part of my heart... but I think now I'm getting a crush on Turkey. <3

Okay, should get back to the study. Can only wax cosmopolitan for short periods now (both the fashion Cosmo & the actual definition) because I'll have nothing good if I don't give my all to being a great religious historian.
